When are the services at WCC?

We offer two, identical, live services each Sunday, one at 9 am and one at 11 am with special programming for your children. These services offer you an opportunity to discover more about God, yourself, and others. We also offer an additional time of praise & worship from 10:15-10:45 for the whole family. This service is entirely music; communion is offered the 2nd Sunday of each month during this time.

What should I wear to WCC?

Honestly, it is really up to you.  We are very casual.  (When I first visited, we assumed my husband was the guest speaker because he was the only one in a tie.)  You will find people in jeans and even shorts in the summer, but you will also find a few people who like to get dressed up a little more. You are welcome with or without a tie!

Who attends WCC?

Great question.  There are lots of different, we mean different types of people who attend WCC.  There are people who are relatively new to church, people who have never gone to church, and people who have attended church all their lives. And those who have previously attended church come from a variety of backgrounds-Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Charismatic, Methodist, and the list goes on.  There are families, singles moms, single dads, parents who attend without their kids, kids who attend without their parents, men and women who have been divorced, people with a past and people with a future; we have people who attend only in the summer because they go South for the winter and people who attend only in the winter because they camp each weekend of the summer, people who attend only once or twice a month and people who come here but attend elsewhere as well; there are young people, people who are not so young, and some who would even call themselves 'older than dirt'. Our doors are open to any and all.  Our doors are open to you!

Does WCC have Sunday morning programs for my kids?

Yes.  Our children's programs, THE EXPLORERS, run concurrent with both services at 9 and 11 am for those in Preschool-4th Grade.  At this time programming is offered for 5th & 6th grade boys during our 9am service and 5th & 6th grade girls during our 11 am service only.  During our additional worship service, offered from 10:15-10:45 am, families remain together in the auditorium.  The nursery is available during all services. Those older than 6th grade sit with their families or friends during the service but they also have their own special programming on Wednesday nights during VELOCITY, our youth group. Please follow these links to THE EXPLORERS or VELOCITY for more information.

Some churches push for donations, does WCC?

No, we don't ask for your money.  The offering bag is passed each week in order to provide those who regularly attend WCC the opportunity to invest in the lives of those who walk through our doors, those whom we meet through community efforts and those we may never personally know through world missions.  We offer our service as a gift to you, our guest, so we invite you to sit back, enjoy, and give your wallet a break.

Is there some way to have someone at WCC pray for or with me?

Absolutely.  We would love to journey with you and pray with you for any needs you may have. If you come on a Sunday morning and would like someone to pray with you, just ask one of the ushers and they will make themselves or someone else available.

To privately share your needs you may call the office at 419-878-2297 or email them to office@watervillecc.org. If we are in the office, someone will  pray with you immediately if you would like.  With your permission, requests are shared with a prayer team who agrees to keep your needs private. If you are willing to share your needs more openly you may also post them on our prayer wall

How do I use the Prayer Wall?

First, you must register on the forum.  Although there are many questions asked when registering, you only need to provide your email address, password, and code; if you would like to keep it simple, there is no need to change the default information at the bottom of the registration screen.  When you have completed the registration process click on submit.  Please note, you will receive an email confirmation of your registration.  Once registered, click on Prayer Needs/Prayer Wall under the WCC Forums heading; at this point, you may choose a topic to view and/or respond to by clicking on it, or, you may elect to post your own prayer request by clicking on the new topic button.  Posting information on the forum is much like sending an email message and it does require that you place something in the subject line! Once you have entered the information you would like to post be sure to click on the submit button at the bottom of the page and log out when you have finished.

How do people become members of WCC?

Well, we don’t have what we consider to be typical "church membership". We instead, offer you the opportunity to "partner" with us. It is our desire that you partner with us on the journey to knowing, loving, experiencing, and living Christ. We don’t believe that the church should be a social club that excludes people because they are not members. We want everyone who walks in our doors to feel welcome and a part of something bigger than themselves. Partnership conveys that you participate and share in the very life of our church, including the business stuff-basically it is less about what we can do for you and more about what we can do together. Those wishing to be partners are asked to take the Journey #301 class which addresses our mission, vision, and values as a church and deals with issues of conflict, attitude and communication in order to promote mutual accountability and unity within the church. We feel that this class establishes a foundation that is necessary when it come to the decisions within the church that require a majority vote of our partners. If you have further questions, please contact the office.
